Devastation Mace

The Devastation Mace is one of the nine weapons in WRATH: Aeon of Ruin.

The Devastation Mace is a late-game weapon acquired by the Outlander. It is a short mace with flanges around the head of the weapon. It is the second melee weapon in the game. Unlike the Ruination Blade, Outlander has to hold this weapon; however, he can easily one-hand it due to its size.

The Devastation Mace is swung laterally, being a much stronger melee option than the Ruination Blade's normal swipe. When enemies are killed, the mace absorbs their Souls. Each slain enemy grants 1 Soul, and as more Souls are absorbed, the flanges glow more and more red. When 10 Souls are absorbed, the mace is fully charged, opening its flanges into a claw-like formation with energy swirling around the head. The secondary firemode can then be used to release a spread of explosive projectiles.
